Step 1: Support Ukrainians
Occupations can only be won if those being occupied succumb to the invaders. Ukrainians have sent their message loud and clear to the aggressors, as captured in the now famous: ‘Russian warship, Go F**k yourself’.
However, this strength cannot last forever. Over time, it gets harder to remain brave, as the cost of war is exacted on friends, family, soldiers and civilians.
Your donations don’t just have the immediate impact of saving lives and protecting human rights, but also send a message of solidarity. Of strength. Of community.
Help the Ukrainians in their moment of need, by helping them access urgent supplies, heal the wounded, protect their children, and maintain their resistance. Whether that’s the communities still located in Ukraine, or the family and loved ones here in Australia.
The more we can support them, the more they can support others.
If giving generously now helps to save lives, strengthen communities, avoid escalation of war, and reduce the worst economic outcomes (which will likely be far greater than whatever you donate), giving is a decision that feels good with both the heart and the head.

ACTION: Support THE LOCAL Ukrainian Community
Many communities will be affected by this war, and we can help strengthen and support them. As conflict runs through Ukraine and the surrounding regions, tough economic sanctions pummel the Russian economy (and those that rely on it), it is hard to imagine anyone in the global community not impacted in some way.
Ways you can get involved include:
- Organising a fundraiser, like these bakers who are auctioning cakes to support the fundraising effort.
- Contacting local impacted communities, such as the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations.
- Keep an eye out for Facebook Events for fundraisers and other community support activities in your area.
