Join ActionAid at the Bankstown Arts Centre in Sydney on Sunday, 13 October 2019 from 11am-2pm to find some pre-loved treasures, and learn about how free trade deals impact women’s rights in sectors like garment manufacturing.
- What to bring: Your pre-loved clothes, and a small donation if you’re keen to update your wardrobe!
We’ll also hear from Nina Gbor, Founder of Eco Styles and Clothes Swap & Styles, and award-winning advocate, eco stylist and sustainable fashion advocate. Nina will share her insights on the importance of sustainability in the fashion industry and global women empowerment
This event is part of ActionAid Australia’s #TransformTradeforWomen campaign to stop the Australian Government from signing the dodgy Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) trade deal – which will prioritise corporate rights over women’s rights. PS. Pre-drop your clothes at 10.30am with doors to open at 11.00am – women’s, men’s and kid’s clothes are all welcome. Stick around for some music, plus some delicious snacks by donation.
