About this event

For Sydney ARRCC’s September meeting, we will be focusing on our MP campaign for the federal budget and the Sounding the Alarm campaign for the G20.

AGENDA ITEM 1: FEDERAL BUDGET

If you live in the following electorates, and would like to meet with your MP to support renewables, we would love to have you at the meeting:

Reid – Fiona Martin has recently posted on Facebook that she supports renewables as the way forward to growing our economy. She also supports gas as a transition fuel and the coalition’s $1.9B investment in ’emerging technologies’ We need a team in Reid to tell her to commit to a fast tracked transition to 100% renewables by supporting wind, hydro and solar, and not gas.

North Sydney – The ARRCC team there are putting together a delegation and have sent a request to meet with Trent Zimmerman.

Mackellar – The team in Mackellar have secured a meeting with Jason Falinski in October. Congratulations!

Wentworth – The team have requested a meeting with Dave Sharma and the delegation is

AGENDA ITEM 2: SOUNDING THE ALARM FOR THE G20 SUMMIT

On 18th November, we are planning to get places of worship all over Australia and the world to ‘sound the alarm’ by ringing bells, putting signs up and sending bright, visually compelling messages that people of faith want a clean recovery from Covid. There’s some groundwork to be done, and we are looking to do a bit of this ‘homework’ on the meeting:

Listing all places of faith across many traditions in Sydney that we can ask to participate in this action.

Creative brainstorming on how your faith can celebrate the theme of ‘sounding the alarm’.
