Join Scottsdale Reserve Manager Phil Palmer for a discussion about protecting Scottsdale Reserve’s landscape, habitats and species, and the efforts of thousands of volunteers to protect and restore them over the past two decades.
The need to protect life on land is a United Nations Sustainable Development Goal. Phil will talk about how Bush Heritage’s conservation management at Scottsdale contributes to the goal.
Phil will be joined by Scottsdale volunteers, Frank and Ann Ingwersen and Jody Gunn, Bush Heritage’s Executive Manager for South East.
Scottsdale Reserve is a 1,328 hectare property protecting endangered grassy box woodlands and temperate grasslands. Wrapped around Scottsdale’s northern and western flanks is the Murrumbidgee River, which cascades over natural rock weirs and through deep tree-fringed pools.
The reserve is a hub of volunteer activity. Thousands of people have worked over the course of two decades to restore cleared areas so they can help support some of the threatened species occurring in the natural parts of the reserve.
This event will be hosted online via Zoom.
