Clean Recovery Campaign Welcome Night

Monday 26 Oct

6:00 pm

7:00 pm

About this event

As we emerge from lockdown across the country, Australians are asking our leaders for a Clean Recovery Plan to empower our communities now and into the future. One of the fundamental elements to achieving this will be funding projects that create jobs and protect our planet.

Our federal government will have an important role in this Clean Recovery; deciding where significant investments will go, shaping policy that protects the planet and promotes equality and prosperity. Local governments will also have a really critical role – they will impact what our cities look like, how our urban areas are utilised, how we develop and maintain green spaces, how we can minimise waste and recover useful materials and how we can educate the community. This will involve the implementation of community based ideas.

The South-East Climate Action Group recently ran a forum in the community with one of the goals being identifying ideas from Melbourne’s inner south-east areas for local projects that are good for people and the planet and we are committed to campaigning for the implementation of some of the more promising projects.

Some of these projects include the restoration of Garniders creek and more solar on the roofs of both public and private buildings. We would love for you to join us in campaining for these important projects in Melbourne’s inner south-east.

We are running a Welcome Night via zoom on Monday the 26th of October from 6pm-7pm for anyone who would like more information on our Clean Recovery Campaign and we would love for you to be there. Please fill out the details on the right to RSVP to the event.
