About this event

Fassifern Valley farmers are invited to participate in a free workshop aimed at improving soil health on their properties for sustainable and profitable crop and fodder production.

The Healthy Soils workshop is an opportunity for local farmers to better understand key drivers of soil health, participate in soil sampling and interpretation of their own soil test results, and receive specialist advice to help them match nutrient inputs to crop and soil requirements.

Main presenter David Hall is an independent agricultural consultant with extensive experience in plant nutrition and soil fertility. David has worked with farmers across cropping, horticulture, fodder, and pasture production enterprises. Healthy Land and Water Senior Scientist Bruce Lord will be hosting the workshop and local Farmcraft agronomist Donald McMurrick will provide an overview of local soil heath issues and programs.

This workshop is free of cost, morning tea and lunch are provided.

BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL – To register for the workshop or learn how you can be involved in the local soil testing program please contact Bruce Lord on 0427 013284 or email bruce.l@hlw.org.au

COVID-19 plan and guidelines are in place for this event.

This project is supported by Healthy Land and Water, through funding from the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program.
