IMPORTANT: The consultations with Andy Marlow are currently limited to North Sydney residents only.

Are you renovating, building, or just looking for advice on how to improve your home’s environmental performance? Take advantage of this unique opportunity to speak with architect Andy Marlow from Envirotecture about ways you can improve sustainability in your home via an online Zoom appointment.

Residents are allocated up to 25 mins to talk over your plans or ideas. 

Participants can can expect to be provided with advice on a range of issues that focus on sustainable building design which may include but is not limited to:

  • Site orientation
  • Passive solar heat storage
  • Insulation
  • Double and trible window glazing
  • Energy effecient technology
  • Cooling and cross ventilation
  • Utilising natural materials
  • Low VOC products
  • Maximising your home’s thermal comfort
  • Water and energy saving
  • Using natural and readily available building materials
  • Passivhaus design principles

Andy can also review your existing plans or discuss any design features you might be thinking about including in your new build or renovation. Participants will get more out of each session if you are able to bring sketches, plans, photos and supporting documentation. Registration is crucial. Get in quick!

More about Andy Marlow from Envirotecture

Andy is driven by a desire for all people to live, work and play in buildings that make them happier. He believes that good design should be accessible to and benefit all, not just those who commission it.

He speaks regularly at conferences and events on sustainability issues; design principles, materials specification, community engagement and the future of our cities including the national conferences of both the Planning Institute of Australia and the Green Building Council of Australia.

He has led master planing projects, been involved in several successful competitions including the Bathurst Sustainable Lifestyle House, and led the materials research for Australia’s first (almost) certified Living Building under the arduous Living Building Challenge – the Sustainable Buildings Research Centre at the University of Wollongong.

Andy is currently a Board Member of the Australian Passive House Association has previously been Co-Chair of the Australian Institute of Architects NSW Sustainability Committee and sat on the Property Council of Australia NSW Sustainability Committee and the Green Building Council of Australia NSW Industry Group.

A passionate community educator, Andy has been running sustainable renovation workshops for over 10 years for a range of Sydney Councils. He also regularly teaches at both UNSW and UTS in the environmental design and building physics courses of their respective Architecture degree programs.
