North Sydney Council is delighted to present a ‘big ideas’ talk on waste with ARC Laureate Fellow Scientia Professor Veena Sahajwalla from the SMaRT Centre (Centre for Sustainable Materials Research and Technology) at the University of NSW.
Professor Sahajwalla will discuss the cutting edge science based waste research her team is involved in and how this has led to innovative sustainable materials and manufacturing processes that have the potential to revolutionise our recycling.
We will also take a live tour of their microfactorie and be shown working examples of sustainable materials and prototypes of future products and uses.
At the end of the evening, Professor Sahawalla will host a live audience Q & A, which is your chance to ask her about the research at SMaRT, the future of waste and everyday recycling items and potential use.
Get your lab coat and goggles ready as we take advantage of a rare opportunity to go deep into the SMaRT Centre and take a sneak peak at the future of our waste and recycling.
This event is organised by the Green Events team at North Sydney Council.
