In October 2019 Armidale Regional Council responded to the extreme drought, water shortage, scientific evidence and strong community call for action by declaring a Climate Emergency. A Climate Emergency working group with members from the community and council representatives was set up in March. The group has prepared a Framework for Climate Action – a Council and Community collaboration – and funding has been set aside in Councils budget to get started. Join us at 7pm on Thursday September 3rd for a Zoom webinar (Passcode: 619069) and find out what what actions have been recommended as a way forward.
Helen Webb and Annette Kilarr will present what has happened since Armidale Regional Council successfully declared a climate emergency.
