About this event

The United States and climate change with Bob Inglis and Lucy Turnbull AO in conversation with Allan Behm.

Bob Inglis is a Republican former Member of Congress from South Carolina who has been both a vocal supporter of climate action and a vocal critic of Donald Trump.

As the US heads towards the Presidential election on November 3rd with climate-fueled wildfires raging across the east coast and more than 200,000 Americans killed by Covid-19, Bob Inglis (who visited Australia as a guest of the Australia Institute in 2017) will be in conversation with businesswoman and philanthropist Lucy Turnbull AO, as well as Allan Behm, head of the Australia Institute’s international and security affairs program about where the United States goes from here.

We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Australians.  We are committed to honouring their unique cultural, and spiritual relationship to the land, air, waters and seas—as well as their rich contributions to society. We acknowledge the sovereignty, land, and law of First Nations were never ceded—this always was and always will be the Land of First Nations people.
