About this event

In this week’s webinar, the Australian Institute will speak to Republican former Congressman Bob Inglis, a conservative champion of climate action and critic of President Trump, as well as Lucy Turnbull, business woman and philanthropist, about climate policy, the upcoming US Presidential election – and what is at stake.

Bob Inglis is a Republican former member of Congress from South Carolina who has been both a vocal supporter of climate action and a vocal critic of Donald Trump.

As the United States heads towards the Presidential election on November 3rd with climate-fuelled wildfires raging across the east coast and more than 200,000 Americans killed by Covid-19, Bob Inglis (who visited Australia as a guest of the Australia Institute in 2017) will be in conversation with businesswoman and philanthropist Lucy Turnbull AO, as well as Allan Behm, head of the Australia Institute’s international and security affairs program about where the United States goes from here.
