About this event

Port Stephens Council has joined up with Upcycle Newcastle to hold online workshops to learn how to make a T-shirt rag rug for their residents. You will learn the finger crochet technique, how to cut T-shirt into continuous yarn and how to grow your circular rug. You’ll collect a free starter kit and receive the link to Upcycle’s rug making video beforehand.

Kit includes:

  • your starter rug,
  • a ball of T-shirt yarn cut for you
  • 2 extra T-shirts to cut up

Kits will be available the week of the event to be collected from Raymond Terrace Library and Tomaree Library. Participants will receive a zoom video conferencing link to your email prior to the event.

Available workshops days are:

  • Friday 6 November 2020 5pm to 7pm
  • Saturday 14 November 2020 10am to 12pm

These kits are for residents of Port Stephens Council only. Proof of address may be asked for upon collection of kit.
